ProDisplay alternative for kids church screens
ProDisplay is Renewed Vision's new app for the screens outside your main auditorium: kids' rooms, lobbies, and hallways. It's built by the ProPresenter team, it runs on Apple TV, and it's priced per screen.
Kids ministry is where the screen count adds up fast. One screen per classroom, plus check-in and the hallway, and per-screen pricing becomes the biggest line in the budget. This page compares the two on price and features, including the things ProDisplay does that we don't yet.
At a glance
TheOpenPresenter fits better if you want:

- ✓ The main service and the kids' rooms on one account
ProDisplay fits better if you need:
- • Content that starts in each room on a timetable, with nobody pressing play
- • Life.Church Open or Amazing Curriculum pulled in automatically
- • A direct export from the ProPresenter setup you already run
- • To stay all-Apple, with an Apple TV remote in every room

Where ProDisplay is better
- • Rooms that run themselves. ProDisplay lets you put content on a calendar for each room, so the welcome loop starts at 9:45 and the lesson at 10:15 without anyone touching it. We don't have scheduling yet.
- • Curriculum arrives ready. If your kids ministry runs on Life.Church Open or Amazing Curriculum, ProDisplay brings the week's content in directly. With us, you download it and upload it.
- • You're already on ProPresenter. Exporting straight from the ProPresenter you run on Sunday is a smooth workflow if you plan to keep it.
Where TheOpenPresenter wins
Add rooms without adding cost
Every new classroom on ProDisplay is another $149 a year. On TheOpenPresenter, the sixth screen and the twentieth cost the same as the first: nothing extra. Opening a new room becomes a question of finding a TV, not finding budget.
Any TV, any stick
Plug a Fire TV Stick, Chromecast with Google TV, or Android TV device into each screen, or use a laptop or mini PC you already own. See how to set up a TV.
Built for rotating volunteers
Each room's leader opens their room on their own phone and runs it from there, with no app to install. Several rooms run at once, and the kids pastor can see and fix any of them from anywhere in the building. How phone control works.
More than playback
Kids' worship needs lyrics. Small groups need a Bible verse. Every room needs a countdown to get everyone back in their seats. TheOpenPresenter does all of these in the same room, alongside videos and slides.
One account for the whole church
The main service, the kids' rooms, the youth hall, and the lobby screen all run in one place, on one plan. No second subscription for the rooms down the corridor.
Trying it in your kids ministry
- Start free. Create an account. Up to 5 screens are free, no card needed.
- Set up one room. Plug a TV stick into the screen, install the app, and scan the QR code to connect it.
- Add this week's lesson. Upload the curriculum videos and slides, and add your worship songs.
- Hand it to the room leader. They run it from their phone on Sunday. Add the other rooms once it's proven.
One room for one Sunday is the easiest way to see whether it fits.
Frequently asked questions
How much does ProDisplay cost compared to TheOpenPresenter?
ProDisplay charges per screen: $19 a month or $149 a year for each one, with your first screen free for the first year. TheOpenPresenter charges per church. Up to 5 screens are free, and the Cloud plan is £190 a year for unlimited screens. There's also a £990 one-time Lifetime licence.
Can I schedule content to play in each room at a set time?
Not yet. This is ProDisplay's strongest feature, and if your rooms need content to start on a timetable with nobody touching it, ProDisplay does that today. In TheOpenPresenter a volunteer starts the presentation in each room, from a phone or the TV itself.
What happens if the church Wi-Fi drops mid-service?
Content is saved to the screen, so it keeps playing. That's true of both products.
Do I need an Apple TV?
No. TheOpenPresenter runs on Fire TV, Google TV, and Android TV, or on any device with a modern browser, including an old laptop or a mini PC. There's no Apple TV app.
Can I use Life.Church Open or Orange curriculum?
There's no direct integration. You can download the videos and slides from the curriculum site and upload them, or play videos from YouTube and Vimeo. ProDisplay pulls Life.Church Open and Amazing Curriculum content in for you, which saves a step each week.
Can the same setup run our main service as well as the kids' rooms?
Yes. TheOpenPresenter is a full presentation app with lyrics, Bible, video, and timers, so the main room and every kids' room run on the same account and the same plan. With Renewed Vision, the main service runs on ProPresenter and the rooms run on ProDisplay, each with its own subscription.
How many volunteers can use it?
As many as you like, on every plan, with no per-user cost. Each room's leader can run their own screen from their phone at the same time.
Every room, one plan
Free for up to 5 screens, no card needed.
Verdict: if you need rooms on a timetable or automatic curriculum today, ProDisplay does that. If you need lots of screens on a church budget, TheOpenPresenter covers them all for less.
